Rose Botha, previously owner of “Joplin’s Steak bar” in Wilderness and thereafter “Upstairs at Rosies Steak bar” in Sedgefield which she left in the capable hands of the new owner Leigh Rau at the end of 2022.
Rambling Rose is situated in Hoekwil, on the corner of Hoekwil Road, nestled in a countryside setting. Since mid-November Rosie cast her magic and brought two worlds together, her love of art and her passion for food. Rambling Rose displays local artists paintings, sculptures, jewelry, leather accessories and of course, the smell of delicious prime cuts sizzling on the grill.
What is the secret to Rose’s success? She loves food and she loves people and her passion of bringing them together, in a "home away from home" atmosphere where they can relax, unwind and simply “have fun” in a dog friendly restaurant with a veranda overlooking the countryside, is the motivating force behind everything Rose does.
Rosies signature steak dishes with egg, chips and or salad is always popular. Chicken, lamb chops, kudu burgers and main salad dishes are on the menu too. Some exciting changes happened to the menu such as vegan and veg options and a brand-new addition for a selection of pizzas was added.
